Client : Auto Component Manufacturer
Requirement : Manufacture drawn and coined parts.
Background : These parts were being supplied to our client by using an expensive and time-consuming route of turning.
Deliverables : The idea was to develop a sheet metal process that could achieve the same without compromising on the quality and drawing dimensions. This, if achieved, would result in a considerable cost saving to our client besides making it possible for them to ramp up the volumes to the desired levels.
Challenge : Nash conceived the process to draw the part and then in a secondary operation to squeeze the extra material into a cavity that would give it the differential thickness in the walls of the drawn part as well as a sharp corner radius.
Result : The same was achieved and currently the parts are being supplied in volumes of 250000 parts a month.
